The dates for our 2010 exhibition are now confirmed: Tuesday 10th to Thursday 12th August, at St Columba’s Church in Portree*.
Set-up will be on Monday the 9th. Best get stitching, it’ll be here before we know it!
A selection of quilts from our 2008 exhibition.
(*If you’re standing with your back to the square in Portree looking at the Bank of Scotland, St Columba’s is a little way up the road to the right of the bank, past the sandwich place, on the same side of the road.)

Just take a look at the huge pile of American quilting magazines kindly sent to us by Connie Barwick (who writes the Cross Stitch section of About.com) and her sister-in-law Jane (who’s the quilter). Thank you both so much! It’s very much appreciated, and very definitely going to be enjoyed.
The magazines arrived just before Christmas, so no prizes for guessing what Marion has been reading… They’ll be brought to tomorrow’s meeting to begin circulation amongst everyone.
If you’ve got any European (or non-UK/USA) cross stitch, embroidery or quilting magazines you don’t want any more, please let Marion have these and she’ll post them on to Connie.
The thaw having happened and no new snow being predicted, Monday’s meeting is on (and, hopefully, also the heating!). There’ll be a small piece for everyone of the magic shrinking fabric Jacquie Harvey sent us, so put your thinking caps on, along with your warmest jumper.
Top: After sewing, shrinking fabric showing. Bottom: After shrinking, 'real' fabric showing. Just add steam ... and the fabric shrinks as you watch, gathering up the piece it's sewn onto.
Our first meeting for 2010 will be on Monday the 11th MONDAY THE 18TH. (Hopefully by then it’ll be less icy.)

No doubt 2010 will be even busier, not least because of our group exhibition in the summer! And don’t stress about the snow, it’s perfect quilting weather.
