Our Next Meeting is on Monday 5th July.
Calendar Girls trip to Inverness: Lin is organising a trip to see the play Calendar girls on 11th September, staying overnight at a B&B. Let Lin know if you are interested so she can get things booked.
Our 2010 Exhibition: Setup on Monday 9th August, exhibition Tuesday 10th to 12th August. Remember to let Jenny know what you want to display at the exhibition (hanging quilts and items for display on tables).
Quilters Guild Highland Area Day on Saturday 16th October. There are a choice of workshops (Transfer Dying, Stich ‘n’ Flip Chicks, Fabric boxes, or Introduction to Mola). The cost for members is £10 and £15 for non-members. Jenny says she’ll probably be going, does anyone else fancy a (long) day out?
Lochcarron Quilters are holding their first patchwork and quilting exhibition next week, on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd June. Don’t miss it!
Apologies, due to a forgotten camera technical hitch, there aren’t any photos from this month’s meeting.
Great to have Jenny back again permanently, and our thoughts go out to Val who hasn’t been able to join us for some time. It was a gloriously sunny meeting, lots of the usual chatting, cake, and stitching. We even had two visitors who are holidaying on Skye!
Jenny showed us her prize-winning quilt, and the colours are far brighter than the photo in the magazine. Ruby showed her double-bed sized scrap quilt, with hand-quilted flower border. Lin brought in her portable computer so we could see a slideshow of the photos she took at the Loch Lomond quilt show (see below for one from Hanne Asbey’s exhibition).
Next meeting is on Monday 5th July. Be great if by then you can commit to what you’ve got ready (or will have ready) for our exhibition to help planning the display. Jenny will be drawing up a ‘duty roster’ for the exhibition, so check your calendars to see if you clear a few hours. Jenny will also be counting to see if we need any more blocks made for the Dresden plate raffle quilt, and finalising the templates for the banner for which block-making volunteers are needed. Oh, it’s indeed great to have you back in full-busy mode Jenny!

1. Our June meeting is TODAY! (Monday 7th June)
2. It’s just over two months until our 2010 Exhibition. Getting to be time to stop thinking about what you’re going to finish for the exhibition and getting into it…
